One of the main goals of adding nanofillers to polymer matrix is to enhance the Young’s modulus and strength of the original base polymers. Due to the rigid structure of carbon nanotube as well as their aspect ratios, they can effectively increase the elastic modulus and stiffness of the polymer matrix. The main practical target of the present study is to obtain the best distribution of the multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with carboxylic group in order to simultaneously improve the elastic modulus, tensile strength and toughness of the resulted nanocomposite. In this regard, nanocomposites with six different weight fractions (wt%) of MWCNTs are made and the specimens are subjected to the tensile test. The results exhibit that addition of MWCNTs with low concentration leads to improvement in the mechanical properties of the vinyl ester polymer such that the optimum mechanical properties are obtained with 0.25wt% of MWCNTs. In this case, the fracture toughness, tensile strength and Young’s modulus are respectively enhanced by amount of 52%, 23%, and 14%. In order to validate the experimental results and investigation the role of MWCNTs on tensile behavior of vinyl ester resin, the scanning electron microscope (SEM) is used and the most important failure mechanisms are discussed and studied in details. Also, the experimental results are compared with existing theoretical models and a new correction factor based on Hirsch’s theory and experimental results is introduced for future industrial applications.}, keywords = {Nanocomposites,Multi-walled carbon nanotubes,Young's modulus,Tensile strength,Toughness}, title_fa = {مطالعه تئوری و تجربی اثر نانو‌لوله کربنی چند جداره بر بهبود خواص کششی و چقرمگی رزین وینیل‌استر}, abstract_fa = {رزین وینیل‌استر به علت خواص خوب مکانیکی و مقاومت شیمیایی بالا، در بسیاری از ساختار‌های کامپوزیتی و صنایع مختلف استفاده می‌شود. یکی از مهم‌ترین اهداف اضافه کردن تقویت‌کننده‌های نانومتری به زمینه‌های پلیمری افزایش مدول الاستیک و استحکام آن‌ها می‌باشد. نانو‌لوله‌ کربنی به دلیل ساختار صلب و نسبت منظری می‌تواند به طور موثری در افزایش مدول الاستیک و سفتی زمینه پلیمری عمل کند. مهم‌ترین هدف کاربردی این پژوهش، دستیابی به توزیع مناسبی از نانو‌لوله‌های کربنی چند جداره دارای عامل‌ کربوکسیل در رزین وینیل‌استر است به طوری که همزمان مدول الاستیک، استحکام کششی و میزان چقرمگی نانو کامپوزیت حاصل افزایش یابد. بر این اساس، نانوکامپوزیت‌هایی با شش درصد وزنی مختلف از نانوفیلر ساخته شد و نمونه‌های مربوطه تحت آزمون کشش قرار گرفت. بررسی نتایج نشان می‌دهد که افزودن نانو‌لوله کربنی در درصد‌های پایین، تأثیر مثبت بر خواص مکانیکی پلیمر وینیل‌استر دارد به طوری که در 25/0 درصد وزنی نانو‌لوله کربنی چند جداره بهترین خواص مکانیکی حاصل گردید. در این حالت چقرمگی ماده 52 درصد، استحکام کششی 23 درصد و مدول الاستیک 14 درصد افزایش یافت. به منظور تایید نتایج آزمایشگاهی و بررسی جامع نقش نانو‌لوله کربنی در رفتار رزین وینیل‌استر، به وسیله میکروسکوپ الکترونی از سطح شکست نمونه‌های کامپوزیتی عکس برداری شد و مهم‌ترین مکانیزم‌های شکست مورد بحث و بررسی قرار گرفت. همچنین جهت ارائه یک مدل تئوری مناسب برای پیش‌بینی مدول الاستیک نانو کامپوزیت، نتایج آزمایشگاهی با مدل‌های تئوری موجود مقایسه گردید و یک ضریب تصحیح جدید بر اساس تئوری هرسچ و نتایج آزمایشگاهی جهت کاربرد‌های صنعتی آینده ارائه شد.}, keywords_fa = {نانو کامپوزیت,نانو‌لوله کربنی چند جداره,مدول الاستیک,استحکام کششی,چقرمگی}, url = {https://jstc.iust.ac.ir/article_32716.html}, eprint = {https://jstc.iust.ac.ir/article_32716_b05b57178fe507b873679dca19b2b1b5.pdf} }
